2010 Canadian Sprint CanoeKayak Championships & CanMas
Wascana Racing Canoe Club would like to welcome all clubs to Regina for the 2010 Canadian Sprint CanoeKayak Championships and CanMas this coming August.
Why Regina? If you were here for the 2005 Canada Summer Games or the 2006 Canadian and CanMas Championships you know the answer. If you weren’t, there are plenty of reasons to come:
- Our venue is considered to be one of the best in Canada. The race course and the lake have been designed and maintained to provide a top notch competition site. The venue is located in Wascana Park, one of the largest urban parks in North America.
- Wascana has been host to many highly competitive events including the 2005 Canada Summer Games and the 2006 Canadian Sprint CanoeKayak Championships & CanMas. It addition, the club was asked to bid on the 2009 Junior World Sprint Championships by CanoeKayak Canada when the host country was unable to run the event. Although Moscow was the successful bidder, Wascana was a candidate worthy of close consideration. Wascana hosts a 3 day annual Canada Day Regatta with up to 250 competitors and has been home to the Prairie Divisional Regatta for several years.
- Regina offers affordable lodging and meals. The host hotel, the Travelodge Hotel & Convention Centre, is offering accommodation at an outstanding rate.
- Saskatchewan is famous for its blue skies and clean air! Or at least that is what we kept hearing at the Canada Games and the 2006 Canadian championships.
