Coming to Saskatchewan? . . .
Did you know that, within an hour’s drive of Regina, is the summer cottage and camping country in the Qu’Appelle Valley with Last Mountain and Buffalo Pound Lakes and the four Fishing Lakes of Pasqua, Echo, Mission and Katepwa; slightly farther east are Round and Crooked Lakes.
The name Saskatchewan derives from the Plains Indian word “kisiskatchewan”, meaning swiftly flowing river, and refers to the four major river systems that run through the province.
Saskatchewan is known as Canada’s “sunniest” province, averaging from 2,000 to 2,500 hours of sunshine annually.
Many people will be surprised by the selection and quality of the restaurants Regina offers. From fine dinning to bistros and sushi bars, Regina has it all. The Willows Restaurant lies on the shore of Wascana Lake, and features a mainly Saskatchewan menu. Other favourites include The Creek in the Cathedral Bistro, La Bodega, Crave, The Fainting Goat, Michi Sushi and many more.
