Congratulations to all 35 athletes who represented Wascana at the Canadian Sprint Canoe/Kayak Championships and the 4 athletes who competed at CanMas. In the Canadian Championships, the club placed 10th overall, improving on it’s overall placement from last year by 2 placements.

Medals were won in the following events:

Master Women B K-1 500m: Laua Soparlo (Bronze)

Senior Women K-1 200m: Kia Byers (Gold)
Senior Women C-15 500m: Dave Robertson (Captain)/ Kia Byers/Kaitlyn Fry/Megan Gibson/Zara Hanson/Zoe Hanson/Ashley Holowatuk/Alexis Laplante/Alyssa Kohl/Ashley Kohl/Chelsey Mitchell/Stephanie Robertson/Amy Soparlo/Gina Soparlo/Daniella Zemlak (Bronze)

Junior Men C-1 1000m: Lliam Folk (Silver)

Juvenile Women K-1 200m: Megan Gibson (Silver)
Juvenile Women K-1 500m: Megan Gibson (Bronze)
Juvenile Women K-2 200m: Megan Gibson/Daniella Zemlak (Silver)

Juvenile Men C-2 1000m: Iain McLeod/Riley Schnell (Bronze)

Midget Women K-4 1000m: Julia Folk, Zoe Hanson, Amy Soparlo, Zoe Hanson, Daniella Zemlak (Gold).

Midget Men K-1 6000m: Simon Fense (Silver)
