Jun 9, 12:37 AM: Kia Byers Completes Competition at ICF World Cup #1
Kia Byers completed an exciting weekend of races at the International Canoe Federation Sprint World Cup #1 in Szeged Hungary. Kia raced in two events, making it to the finals in each.
Kia, along with partners Jillian D’Alessio, Genevieve Orton and Mylanie Barre placed 7th in the women’s K-4 500m event just one spot behind Canada’s other entry in the event. Kia also raced with Jillian in the women’s K-2 500m event, placing 8th.
CanoeKayak Canada will be using the results from the World Cup Tour to name the final canoe/kayak team for the 2008 Olympic Games.
